MODULE FOUR

Let The Vocal Technique Continue!

AFFIRMATION: My voice connects me with myself and the world.

Today we are diving into more vocal technique, including our first vocal warmups! But first, our tuning in.

I invite you – if you’re feeling it – to try the toning on your own for this module and the next. You’re always welcome to use the video for support, but I’d love for you to be building that more intimate and trusting relationship with your own voice, and the best way to do that is to spend time with your voice, all by itself. Only you can know when you’re ready for that, so trust your gut, and tone by yourself or with the video.

Toning

Beautiful. Now you’re ready to dive deeper into vocal technique!

The Pathway of Sound

Sound has a pathway that it travels through the body. Let’s get in touch with it! Building awareness of this sonic pathway will not only help us use our voices better, but will also help us cultivate all the goodness available through healthy, embodied sound.

Believe it or not, singers think about the shapes they make with their mouths when they sing. This is because we’re essentially shaping a fancy mobile concert hall as we sing or speak, and the way we shape our mouths can help or hinder our sound. Let’s discuss!

Range

I love surprising new clients by showing them that they can sing much higher (and lower) than they thought they could, and fairly quickly too. Let’s explore the secrets of vocal range.

Sirens

Sirens are an excellent way to begin to stretch and warm your voice each and every day. Do them as you brew your morning coffee, in the shower, or in the car on your way to work and you’ll be setting your voice up to feel better all day long.

Calling in the Good

Ok, I’m getting a little silly with this one. I hope you’ll join me in some vocal play. This is our first intro to vocal strengthening, and weaving our reality with intention and joy. Join me in calling in the goodness!

JOURNALING

Here we go with our quick check-in ritual. Take a few minutes to answer these questions.

  • What are your main takeaways from Module 4?

  • Have you had any a-ha moments as you watched these videos? If yes, what are they?

  • Based on what you’ve learned so far, what commitment would you like to make to yourself around your voice?

  • Are there connections you can make from one module to the next?

  • What would your inner voice like to say to you about your vocal journey at this moment?

  • How can you see this information expanding into the rest of your life? What ways can knowing more about your voice help you show up more fully, more embodied, more confident, better at communicating, healthier, etc?

Fantabulous! Wonderliscious! Superdocious! You’ve done it!

How do you FEEL? Accomplished I hope! And more enlivened and invigorated :)

I’ll see you in Module 5! Congratulations and Wheeee!!! Moving right along!! High five!!!
